A news story has appeared in a section of press titled " EC official gets promotion" on 16th August 2012 which is not correct.

  Islamabad, the 17^th August 2012.-        A news story has appeared in a section of press titled “ EC official gets promotion” on 16^th August 2012 which is not correct. In this regard, it is clarified that the said officer, Mr. Muhammad Afzal Khan, a BPS-21 officer, has not been promoted to any higher grade. He was serving as Provincial Election Commission, KPK and now he has been transferred against a vacant post of Additional Secretary at the ECP Secretariat which post also carries the same pay and scale. It is simply a transfer case and, therefore, should not be considered as promotion.
